205 sailors on the water

After an early attempt to get the racing underway at 10.00am, all 205 racers present at the Ecole Nationale de Voile et Sports Nautiques were soon back on the beach.

Only the Under 13s (U13) and Under 16s (U16) were able to do any kind of battle, in wind-shotrtened races.

The wind, or lack of it, was the problem, but it woke up after lunch and at 2.00pm racing was possible. All three fleets, U13, U16 and U19, were spread over the sunny-skied bay of Quiberon and completed 3 rounds of intense racing. They were surely motivated by sharing the bay with the French national crew and their impressive Nacra 17 boat, having a training day at the ENVSN the same day.

This time the wind didn't let us down and the competitors were able to give it everything.

In the Under 13s, the Australians showed their increasing mastery of the art, with three of their team in the first three places : Travis Wadley, Talia Bulstrode et Breanne Wadley

In the Under 16s, split into two groups of 65 in each, French hopeful Titouan Pétard from the Arradon Sailing Club took all three rounds in the Yellow Group, followed by Gavin Ball from US and Michael Parks from Australia. While in the other group, Australian Kristen Wadley leads after the first day from the German, Magnus Frohman and another home French racer from Arradon, Theo Michez.
